Breeding Cages - BugDorm Insect Cages - pint sized with screened donut lids

Pint-sized Bug Dorms with Donut Lids with 104 x 94 mesh Nylon Netting Series. Small in size with good visibility, these pint-sized BugDorm containers are ideal for raising or breeding small colonies of disease vectors.

In addition, they are also suitable for keeping small animals that do not jump, climb, or claw aggressively. These pint-sized BugDorm can also be used as temporary enclosures to hold specimens caught in the field.

The Donut lid of the pint-sized BugDorm has a matt surface for pencilling notes. This lid can also be placed over petrie dishes with outer diameters of 89 mm or less.

The highly breathable screen pre-installed on the Donut lid is of 104 x 94 mesh Nylon netting.
The Donut lids are designed to sit loose on the pint-sized cups.

Each Pint-sized BugDorm consists of 1 x Cup and 1 x Donut Lid.
The Donut Lid consists of 2 parts that inter fit and 1 pre-installed off-white Nylon Screen (104 x 94 mesh/square inch).

Transportation: Carry the pint-sized BugDorm by the cup body, not by lifting the lid or sleeve. The lid can be clamped or taped to the cup if necessary.

EMD41 Donut Lid (Nylon Screen) 104 x 94 mesh
These Donut lids are the key part of the pint-sized BugDorms. They can also be used to cover petrie dishes or your own containers with external diameters of 89 mm or less.

The Donut lid has a matt surface for retaining pencilled notes. If stained, its 104 x 94 mesh Nylon screen can be replaced with clean Nylon mesh circles (Catalogue # EMD42-48 sold separately - see below) or with your own screen materials.

Circles of 150 x 150 mesh Nylon screen (finer mesh than the standard 104 x 94mm mesh) are also available (Catalogue # EMD43-48 sold separately - see below) to effectively keep aphids, thrips, and parasitic wasps from escaping or entering the cup.

Stockinette sleeves for the pint-sized BugDorm can be purchased separately if this method of entry is required (Catalogue # EMD44-12 - see below)

EMD42-48 Replacement Screen for Donut Lid (104x94 mesh)
Provided in a pack of 48. These pre-cut circles are replacement default netting for the Nylon-screen Donut lid of the pint-sized BugDorms.

EMD43-48 Fine Screen for Donut Lid (150x150 mesh)
Provided in a pack of 48. Screen size 150 x 150 mesh Nylon netting. These pre-cut circles are finer mesh netting for the Nylon-screen Donut lid. They are more effective than the default screens (104 x 94 mesh Nylon netting) at keeping aphids, thrips, and parasitic wasps from escaping or entering the pint-sized BugDorms.

EMD44-12 Stockinette Sleeves for Pint-sized Bug Dorms
Provided in a pack of 12. Stockinette sleeves for the pint-sized BugDorm are also available. These sleeves allow you to access the interior of the BugDorm cup without removing the lid.

EMD45-12 Donut Lid Wire Screen
Provided in a pack of 12. This wire-screen Donut lid can be used in lieu of the standard Nylon-screen Donut lid to cope with small animals/insects that claw aggressively.
The wire screen is glued to the Donut lid and is not replaceable.
