Collecting Lights - Ultra Violet Light/Spotlight

2 in 1 fluorescent lantern/ torch which has a horizontal clip that can either be attached to a belt for carrying purposes or clipped for hand-free operation. It is portable and light weight.

Measurements: 190mm x 54mm x 24mm width.

The torch operates separately from the ultra violet light. Four (4) AA batteries are required to operate the unit. The batteries are not supplied.

One 4 watt ultra violet fluorescent tube that is 150mm in length come with the unit. It is a BLB (black light blue) tube.

Alkaline batteries are suggested to enable the UV tube to start and keep illuminated for longer. The UV tube requires a much larger voltage to start and keep illuminated than the normal incandescent torch globe. As the batteries get low, the torch part will work fine but the UV tube will neither start or if it does, it will be dim. In this case the batteries need replacing.

The unit consumes a lot of power to start up the UV tube, so as a consequence, if the unit is turned on and off in short bursts, the battery life will be considerably shortened.

In continuous use, the battery life is quite considerably extended as it uses less power to keep the UV tube illuminated.
