EBG701 BG-GAT – Gravid Aedes Trap
The BG-GAT (Gravid Aedes Trap) trap was developed by Dr. A. E. Eiras from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte, Brazil and Dr. S. A. Ritchie from the James Cook University, Cairns, Queensland 4870, Australia. It is a low-cost, passive trap, which serves as an alternative breeding site and uses water and oviposition cues to attract egg-laying female mosquitoes. Once in the trap, the mosquitoes are collected on a sticky surface and die. The trap is easy to set up, mosquitoes specimens are not damaged, and it does not require a power source or surface spray for operation. The trap is also supplied with 2 x LLINs (Long Lasting Insecticide Nets) that also can be used as an option. To see how the trap operates, see this instruction manual.

Treated Nets for BG-GAT – Gravid Aedes trap
EBG701NET – Long Lasting Insecticide Treated Nets (LLINs)
These long lasting, blue coloured insecticide-treated nets are for use with the BG-GAT-Gravid Aedes Trap as an optional extra.
2 x LLIN nets are:
- 1 x circular approx. 28cm diameter;
- 1 x rectangular about 40 x 10cm.
These nets are used in conjunction with the black net that is supplied with the BG-GAT – Gravid Aedes trap and provide good results. The LLIN nets are treated with Alphacypermethrin.
