BugDorm Pint-Sized Insect Pots with Snap-On Lids

Small in size with good visibility, these pint-sized containers are ideal for raising or breeding small colonies of disease vectors in labs with restricted space. Also suitable for keeping small animals that do not jump, climb, or claw aggressively, the pint-sized insect pot can serve as temporary enclosures to conveniently restrain insects caught in the field.

The highly breathable screen pre-installed on the donut lid is made of 104×94 mesh nylon netting. Tainted screens can be easily replaced with fresh ones (sold separately) or substituted with your own screen materials.

The lid of the pint-sized insect pot has a matte surface for penciling notes. To assemble a pint-sized insect pot, simply snap down the 3x built-in clips around the rim to secure the lid to the pot.

Each pint-sized BugDorm consists of 1x cup and 1x snap-on lid.

The lid consists of two parts that inter-fit and one pre-installed off-white nylon screen (104 x 94 mesh/square inch).

EMD42-48 Replacement Screen for Snap-on or Donut Lids (104×94 mesh)

Provided in a pack of 48. These pre-cut circles are replacement default netting for the nylon-screen lid of the pint-sized BugDorms.

EMD43-48 Fine Screen for Snap-on or Donut Lids (150×150 mesh)

Provided in a pack of 48. Screen size 150 x 150 mesh nylon netting. These pre-cut circles are finer mesh netting for the nylon-screen lid. They are more effective than the default screens (104 x 94 mesh nylon netting) at keeping aphids, thrips, and parasitic wasps from escaping or entering the pint-sized BugDorms.

EMD44 Stockinette Sleeves for Pint-sized Bug Dorms

Provided singularly (EMD44) or in a pack of 12 (EMD44-12). Stockinette sleeves for the pint-sized BugDorm are also available. These sleeves allow you to access the interior of the BugDorm cup without removing the lid.

EMD45-12 Donut Lid Wire Screen

Provided in a pack of 12. This wire-screen Donut lid can be used in lieu of the standard Nylon-screen Donut lid to cope with small animals/insects that claw aggressively.

The wire screen is glued to the Donut lid and is not replaceable.

EMD41 Donut Lid (Nylon Screen) 104 x 94 mesh

Note: These older-style lids have been superseded by the new snap-on lids and will not fit the new cups. 

These Donut lids are the key part of the pint-sized BugDorms. They can also be used to cover petrie dishes or your own containers with external diameters of 89 mm or less.

The Donut lid has a matt surface for retaining pencilled notes. If stained, its 104 x 94 mesh Nylon screen can be replaced with clean Nylon mesh circles (EMD42-48 sold separately – see above) or with your own screen materials.

Circles of 150 x 150 mesh Nylon screen (finer mesh than the standard 104 x 94mm mesh) are also available (EMD43-48 sold separately – see above) to effectively keep aphids, thrips, and parasitic wasps from escaping or entering the cup.

Stockinette sleeves for the pint-sized BugDorm can be purchased separately if this method of entry is required (EMD44-12 – see above).
