BugDorm Insect Rearing Tents
This series of BugDorm insect rearing tents offers a range of sizes and materials. Below are the four variations we now stock.
EM2120 Insect Rearing Tent (60x60x60cm, polyester mesh)
The EM2120 is a lightweight and portable housing with fibreglass poles suitable for insects and other small animals such as spiders and lizards.
The front and back panels of the tent are of clear plastic for observation of insect activity. The two side panels are of fine polyester netting (96 x 26 mesh) for ventilation. There are two openings in the front panel of the insect tent. The zippered opening is large enough to insert potted plants. Centered in the zippered opening is a smaller sleeve opening (18 cm in diameter) for addition or removal of insects and for replacement of food material without letting insects escape. The insect tent is constructed so that support poles are outside the enclosure. There are no places for insects to hide inside of the tent itself.

EM2120F Insect Rearing Tent (60x60x60cm, nylon mesh)
The EM2120F insect tent has the same dimensions as the EM2120, but instead of using 96 x 26 mesh polyester, this BugDorm is sewn using the fine 150 x 150 nylon mesh. This mesh size effectively keeps aphids, thrips and parasitic wasps from escaping or entering the tent.
EM2120E Insect Rearing Tent (60x60x60cm, nylon mesh)
The EM2120E insect tent has the same dimensions as the EM2120 and EM2120F. However, the EM2120E is all 150 x 150 nylon mesh except the floor—there are no clear panels on EM2120E.
EM2400F Insect Rearing Tent (75x75x115cm, nylon mesh)
This dome-shape BugDorm tent provides ample space for potted plants, and is constructed so that support poles are outside the enclosure. For observation, the front and back panels are clear vinyl, as is the floor. For ventilation, the right and left sides are fine nylon mesh (150 x 150). This fine mesh is used to effectively keep aphids, thrips and parasitic wasps from escaping or entering the tent.
There are three openings in the front panel. The zippered opening is large enough to insert potted plants. The two smaller sleeve openings (18cm diameter) on the zippered opening permit addition or removal of insects and replacement of food without letting the insects escape.
- Size: 75 x 75 x 115cm high
- Mesh size : 150 x 150 | 160 µm aperture
- Weight: 820gm
EM2960 Insect Rearing Tent (160x160x180cm, polyester mesh)
This is the long-awaited insect tent providing a very large space for potted plants. In addition to the large front entrance, there is one zippered window on each side panel, permitting observation of insect activities.
This insect tent is constructed so that support poles are outside the enclosure. There are no places for insects to hide inside this model.
