Plankton Tow Nets

E46B Educational phytoplankton net

Diameter 150mm – 250 micron mesh.

This net is ideal for educational use or for anyone requiring a net for sampling purposes. It has an opening of 150mm and mesh size of 250 micron. The net is approx. 0.45m long. The cod end of the net is fitted with a 250µm filter.

The net has an industrial nylon collar which is fitted onto a strong nylon ring. The tow rope is connected to the ring via a three-point harness.

Weight loops are also provided, although users will need to supply their own weights.

Plankton Nets with 50mm End Filters

E46 and E46A – 250 micron mesh Zooplankton Nets, 50mm diameter end filter

Stainless steel frame, towing harness and a 7m tow line. Both open-ended, supplied with a 250 micron mesh end filter which retains small animals such as crustaceans whilst allowing most algae and protozoa to pass through.

E46C and E46D – 53 micron mesh Phytoplankton Nets, 50mm diameter end filter

Stainless steel frame, towing harness and a 7m tow line. Both open-ended, supplied with a 53 micron mesh end filter for sampling algae and protozoa.

E46E and E46F – 100 micron mesh Plankton Nets, 50mm diameter end filter

Stainless steel frame, towing harness and a 7m tow line. Both open-ended, supplied with a 100 micron mesh end filter which retains small animals such as crustaceans and some algae. The mesh is in between a standard phytoplankton and zooplankton net.

E46N and E46M – 20 micron mesh Phytoplankton Net, 50mm diameter end filter

E46Y Tap Valve – Plankton Net Filter and Tap Adaptation

A tap valve can be screwed on in place of a 50mm filter on 250 and 300mm net rings. This gives the operator a choice of cod ends. Suitable only for the Plankton Nets with 50mm End Filters. Namely, the E46, E46A, E46C, E46D, E46E and E46F plankton nets.
