Mosquito Traps – BG-Sentinel Mosquito Trap Kits

This innovative mosquito monitoring trap was developed by BioGents GmbH (Germany) specifically designed to be especially attractive for Aedes (Stegomyia) aegypti, and Aedes (Stegomyia) albopictus. It is also highly effective for a range of other species when used in conjunction with various lures/attractants. Carbon dioxide is not required to catch Aedes aegypti, A. polynesiensis, or A. albopictus, but it can be added as an attractant for other species.

Features of the BG Sentinel Trap:

• Mimics convection currents created by a human body
• Employs attractive visual cues
• Releases artificial skin emanations through a large surface area
• Can be used without CO2 to specifically capture selected mosquito species
• Is an excellent general mosquito trap when used with CO2

The trap is large enough to incorporate additional attractants such as fragrant substances, small living animals, worn clothing, animal hairs, light and heat sources, etc. This makes the trap a very versatile tool for both monitoring and research.

The new version of the BG Sentinel, the BG Sentinel #2, now offers improved features concerning quality and practicality. The Full BG-Sentinel Version Trap comes with mains and 12 volt battery mounting cables – (battery not supplied). It has a unique pop-up design. No tools are required for assembly. It comes with 1x Biogents BG-Lure Attractant, Waterproof connectors and intake funnel with shutter.

Lures and Attractants

All kinds of lures can be used with the BG-Sentinel Trap. The lure is placed in the mesh pouch on the outside of the suction tube.

Patented Biogents BG-Lure that mimics the scent of human skin. Each lure operational for up to five months. Designated as non-toxic. Attracts blood seeking insects that are of concern to humans, particularly the tiger mosquitoes.
